Cloud Discovery documentation

Cloud Discovery is a macOS desktop app that turns raw Azure resource data into a client-ready assessment: it classifies resources, maps dependencies, checks migration readiness, and generates professional documentation with your own AI key. Everything runs locally, and your data stays on your Mac.

How the workflow fits together

A report is produced in five steps. Each step has its own page inside a project, and the app tracks which steps are done.

1
Add your data

Create a project, then upload a CSV, JSON, or Excel export of your Azure environment, or connect live to Azure and discover resources directly.

2
Review resources

The app classifies every resource, maps relationships between them, and raises findings such as missing backups or open security gaps. No AI key needed.

3
Generate the summary

One AI call produces an environment overview: what is running, how it is organized, and what stands out.

4
Generate documentation

Pick a content template for your audience and let the AI draft each section. Every section stays editable before export.

5
Export the report

Choose one of 14 visual styles, preview the real PDF, and export PDF or Markdown.

Three tools are optional add-ons available inside any project once data is loaded: Migration Assessment, Topology Draft, and Scout, the AI Analyst that answers questions about your environment. None of them are required to produce a report. See the module reference for details.
